NCB improves operating efficiency with better space management
NCB is in the process of purchasing the property at the address registered as 7 Dumfries Road which formerly housed a Super Plus Food Stores branch.
The purchase - which has met all the necessary approvals and due diligence requirements when tendering for a property of this nature - is expected to be finalized within the next 4 weeks.
In outlining the rational for the acquisition, NCB’s Senior Assistant General Manager Ffrench Campbell said “We are constantly trying to identify opportunities in every area of our business, space management is a primary consideration. The purchase is a part of our continuing drive to reduce our operating costs and to improve our efficiency through better space management. We have several units operating in different locations in Kingston and the space at the Trafalgar Road location is ideal for consolidation of these units. We expect to reap significant savings as a result of this timely acquisition.”
The building will be used to relocate our centralized canteen facility which was housed at the 54 King St location that we sold recently, as well as some units in our Network Operations and IT divisions.
The acquisition of this property will allow us to give up rental of two floors in the Towers on Oxford Road as well as another location on Eureka Road, which we will be putting up for sale.
