National Commercial Bank’s association with the Gleaner’s Spelling Bee Competition started with the vision to encourage and support our boys in achieving excellence. Since the early 80’s, NCB has sponsored Champion Boys at both the parish and national Levels.
“NCB’s sponsorship of this event gives us the opportunity to invest in the lives of our nation’s children, particularly our boys, and in doing so we encourage them to build on the discipline gained through the competition so they can become dedicated and focused young leaders and role models.” effused Belinda Williams, Manager, NCB Corporate Communications.
“We are committed to building a better Jamaica and we fully endorse the advancement of education in our nation through the pursuit of academic achievement and the love for acquiring knowledge which are qualities we support in our children.” she continued.
Over the years, NCB has found the partnership with the Gleaner’s Spelling Bee competition rewarding as the competition is aligned with the Bank’s vision of advancing education and continues to propel our children to embrace and master the art of the English Language. The competition also encourages them through their hard work and determination, to recognize that there is greatness within them.
This year, in addition to NCB’s sponsorship of the Champion Boys, NCB Insurance Company also presented the top 3 Champion Boys and the top Champion Girl with NCB Omni gift certificates valued at $10,000 each.
