CHAIRMAN of the National Commercial Bank (NCB) Michael Lee Chin reckons that individuals working to build a better Jamaica should be more openly celebrated by the country. The business guru who was speaking at the NCB Foundation $1-billion celebration launch at the Terra Nova Hotel last Thursday, stated that the bank has been leading by example in its works to build a better Jamaica after committing more than $1 billion on programmes in the area of education, community and sports development, youth leadership and entrepreneurship over the last 10 years. "I'm proud of NCB because it is leading by example in terms of doing well. What do I mean by that? Well, how much taxes do you think we paid last year?," Lee Chin questioned the audience. "We paid over $6 billion in taxes last year, and we are here celebrating $1 billion over 10 years, we paid $1 billion every two months in taxes!"
