NCB supports One People

Amidst bouts of laughter, applause and palpable excitement at the Sir Phillip Sherlock Centre on Tuesday evening (June 5), comments like "that is soooo true, that is too funny, this is awesome!" could be heard from patrons during the preview launch event of the One People documentary. One People is a seminal documentary celebrating Jamaica's 50th anniversary of independence with interviews of notable Jamaicans across the globe including current and former Prime Ministers of Jamaica, international entertainers such as Harry Belafonte, our internationally acclaimed sportsmen and women and business moguls among others. Scores of senior private sector executives, international entertainers, musicians, filmmakers, philanthropists, entrepreneurs and others were on hand to lend their support for the Jamaica 50 endorsed project. "As a main sponsor National Commercial Bank is very excited about the project and how it turns the spotlight on all that is positive and good about Jamaica particularly now during our Jubilee year. If the preview event is anything to go by, the full length documentary will certainly be a fantastic experience on August 6 when it is premiered in Kingston, London, Miami and New York," opined Belinda Williams NCB's Group Corporate Communications Manager. The homegrown financial Group has contributed $4 million towards the initiative which at its core celebrates the resilience, creativity, innovation and strength of Jamaica; values that NCB embodies and reflects. "As Jamaica's Bank, NCB is proud to be one of the main sponsors for the One People project which highlights the best of Jamaica. Our support also forms part of NCB's 175th anniversary celebrations which are focused on showing appreciation to Jamaicans for their patronage over the years," said Sheree Martin General Manager for the Marketing Communications & Service Delivery Division at NCB. In addition to interviews, the One People documentary will feature video footage contributed from people all over the world on their perspectives on Jamaica. The 90-minute feature length documentary is being produced by Justine Henzell and Zachary Harding.
