NCB tops the JSE 2011 Best Practices Awards

National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB) emerged the top award recipient at the recent Best Practices Awards Ceremony hosted by the Jamaica Stock Exchange. NCB doubled the number of awards received the previous year by winning four of the eleven categories,including the Governor General's Award for Excellence, in recognition of being the overall winner at the ceremony. Patrick Hylton, NCB Group Managing Director when commenting on this accomplishment said, "These awards are symbols of the commitment of the NCB team to make excellence the hallmark of what we do. We are challenged to not grow complacent but to keep innovating to outdo our previous accomplishments." In his response on the value of these awards he further stated "Recognition of this nature, assessed through an independent body; demonstrates strength in performance and expertise of team.  This isalso a reflection of the confidence in how we perform and conduct our business." Of the 11 categories, in addition to the Governor General's Award for Excellence NCB was recognized for:1) Corporate Disclosure & Investor Relations, 2)Corporate Governance Policies (two consecutive years) and 3) Annual Report. NCB Capital Markets Limited was also awarded first runner-up in the category of Revenue Generation and Market Activity, for the second consecutive year. Mrs. Yvonne Clarke, Group Chief Financial Officer also shared her satisfaction with the recognition received,"To be acknowledged by one of our regulators, the Jamaica Stock Exchange, is gratifying. We will continue to work hard to improve our reporting strategies, the pinnacle of which our Annual Reportstands as these awards are a measure that we are doing the right thing." Through the Best Practices Awards Ceremony, the Jamaica Stock Exchange recognizes the listed companies and stockbrokerages, who represent the best practices within their organization and by extension help to foster the growth and development of the capital market.
