N.C.B. FOUNDATION CSEC & CAPE NATIONAL BURSARY PROGRAMME 

Since 2003, the National Commercial Bank through its philanthropic arm - N.C.B. Foundation, has been sponsoring select Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) subjects for qualified Jamaican students in both public and private schools across the island. To date, the Foundation has awarded over J$233 million for over 108,000 student entries.

The programme works in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information (MOEYI) subsidy to ensure that qualifying students are able to sit the approved examinations at no cost to them and to have the opportunity to meet the minimum subject requirement for admission into tertiary level institutions or advance in the world of work.

REVISION OF PROGRAMME 

The N.C.B. Foundation CSEC/CAPE National Bursary Programme has shifted its focus in order to align with the Foundation’s overall revised digital mandate and will support select CSEC subject areas offered by the Overseas Examination Commission (OEC) that align with this digital thrust. For the 2023/24 academic year, the approved subject area is Information Technology (IT) at the CSEC level and Computer Science Unit 1 and 2 at the CAPE level. 

APPROVED SUBJECTS

• Information Technology - CSEC Level
• Computer Science - CAPE Level

SCHOOL ELIGIBILITY

All public and private institutions island wide with a sit rate of 90% or higher in each of the approved subject areas for the prior academic year (2022/23) as per data from Overseas Examination Commission (OEC).

TIPS FOR APPLICATION

• All applications must be submitted online application forms via this website as no hard copy submissions or soft copy submissions via email will be accepted. 
• School Administrators should have the requisite information on hand ahead of beginning the application process which includes: 

     - School name, address, email address, contact number and the requisite contact person(s). 

     - Information on each student being put forward for the respective bursaries as outlined below: 

          a) First and last names, telephone numbers and email addresses for each beneficiary. 

               i. Contact numbers and email addresses are to be provided for each student and not a shared school email address.

          b) Last grade average for each subject.
