N.C.B. Foundation’s Christmas Gift Helps Christine Haber Ministries Extend Hurricane Relief

Kingston, Jamaica, December 22, 2025 – A donation from N.C.B Foundation’s Grant a Wish initiative has given a significant to boost to the hurricane relief efforts spearheaded by Bishop Christine Haber and her team at Christine Haber Ministries International.
The funding will provide targeted assistance to seniors and babies across several hard-hit communities.
“With this $250,000, I want to give back to the seniors, especially. They are not working and many of them have lost their roofs. Roofing is very expensive,” shared the church leader
The remaining funds will be used to provide essential supplies for babies. “A lot of babies don’t have adequate feeding, clothing, and diapers, so we are just going to buy those items and give back to the communities in which we have been working,” she added.
Disaster mission is a familiar response for is not new to the bishop and her team, whose outreach work spans church, mission and global tours. “After the passage of Hurricane Matthew, I was in Haiti working alongside the doctors,” she advised. However, more recently with Melissa, they have been in communities islandwide holding church and offering counselling, mediation support alongside the distribution of the relief activities.
Considering the focus of this year’s grant a wish effort; N.C.B. Foundation Director, Sheree Martin shared that the decision to support Christine Haber Ministries International was both timely and personal.
“As I thought about Hurricane Melissa and my network of friends who are structured in a way to be able to really provide support, Faith in the City Church, led by Christine Haber of Christine Haber Ministries immediately came to mind.”
“I’ve known Christine from the age of eighteen. This work is her life’s mission and her purpose. Given her ministry’s resources to support those in need, in the aftermath of the Hurricane, our contribution perfectly fits our objective at this time,” Mrs. Martin affirmed.
Bishop Haber shared relief efforts are currently focused on contributions to hurricane ravaged communities in four main areas: Middle Quarters, St. Elizabeth, Mile Gully, Manchester, Liverpool, Trelawny and rural St. James. The donations continue through to Boxing Day.
N.C.B. Foundation’s Grant a Wish is open to all Jamaicans and residents across the island, not only NCB customers. Nominations close at midnight on December 31, 2025. Wishes may be submitted online at www.jncb.com/grantawish or at participating NCB branches islandwide.
